Their goals are to renovate, restore, rehabilitate, and redevelop commercial corridor, relieve and reduce unemployment, improve and maintain job opportunities, instruct or train individuals to improve or develop their capabilities for such jobs, carry on scientific research for the purpose of aiding the area by attracting new industry or by encouraging the development or retention of industry, lessen the burdens of government and act in the public interest. Implementation of the City's Commercial Revitalization Programs for their targeted area. Attract, retain, stabilize and expand businesses and business opportunities on neighborhood streets, create and retain jobs and stimulate investment, improve physical conditions and provide increased services. Encourage active participation of community-based groups in the implementation and on-going management of revitalization programs in their neighborhoods. Assist merchants in improving their profitability.

HomeBase seeks to help individuals and families living in overcrowded or unbearable living situations (subject to becoming homeless) find solutions to avoid entering the shelter system.
HomeBase is a neighborhood-based program located in six New York City communities. They serve local residents who are at serious risk of becoming homeless.
Staff at the HomeBase offices will work in partnership with residents to solve housing problems before they become crises.
Services are tailored to meet the residents’ needs and may include:
• Money management and household budgeting • Credit repair
• Help accessing public benefits programs like food stamps, Public Assistance, SSI and FEPS
• Education (GED, ESL, job training) and job placement assistance
• Legal services
• Short-term financial assistance
• Household repairs and improvements
• Family and landlord mediation
• Child health, education and safety support
• Day care referrals
• Domestic violence referrals
• Mental health and substance abuse services
You may be eligible for our free services if you:
• Currently live in or are returning to Community District #16 and
• Are not able to remain in your housing situation because: (i) of overcrowding, (ii) of possible eviction, (iii) you are a victim of domestic violence, (iv) your name is not on the lease, or (v) other problems are making your living situation stressful; and
• Receive Public Assistance or have a low income; and

Their mission is to enrich the lives of children and families by fostering skills that enhance academic achievement and fruitful career pursuits through an innovative process of multi-cultural awareness and self-esteem building. They offer the following programs: Professional Development for Educators, human service administrators, corporate heads, and police makers, Professional Development-Literacy through the art of dance ( for anyone who is responsible for helping children learn to read), Cultural Dance for children (they go on site to teach children about cultural and heritage), Parenting Seminars, After School Dance Camp (Children earn dance time through successful completion of homework - scholarships available. The Network does not provide any direct services. It is a consortium of 70-80 networks that was established to develop the type of continuum of care necessary for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.l
